WOULD A REAL MAN USE A 15 WOOD?

A 15 wood? When I started playing golf the only woods most players
carried were the driver and 3 wood. There were a few 4 and 5 woods
around but not many people carried them. Well times have certainly
changed. As I've told you I don't carry any iron longer than the 5
anymore. However, some folks are going farther than that. Some
manufacturers like Callaway (www.callawaygolf.com) are now making 11
woods and 13 woods. Thomas Golf has gone further and is also making 15
woods, 17 woods and even 19 woods. Now you can replace almost every
iron in your bag. Thomas Golf sent me a 15 wood to test. On the head
cover it says 15w and 7i, meaning it's about equivalent in distance to
a 7 iron. I took it with me on my regular Saturday round of golf and on
the first tee showed it to my playing partners and asked them if they
would all try a shot with it, at least once during the round. Well,
they did and then some. I tried it and it was very solid and very
accurate. What surprised me was how often my playing partners tested
the 15 wood. It was hit probably 15 to 20 times (I expected maybe 5 or
6 hits). One 22 handicapper really liked it. He probably hit it 9 or 10
times. He asked for the web site and I would be surprised if he
hasn't already ordered one. All of us found the 15 wood solid and easy
to hit. Thomas Golf now makes up to a 19 wood. If you fight with your
irons I would recommend trying a couple of these especially if your
have a 20 handicap or higher. For $79 (with a graphite shaft and
headcover) you can't go wrong. Check it out at:
